It was a long Easter weekend, about 8 months into my first year in Australia, Josh had been here for almost a year. Neither of us had family in Australia at this point. I was out with a few girlfriends I had met while living in Australia; he was also doing the same with a few mates.

It was a weekly Sunday fun-day for the girls and I but it was a rainy day and the boys decided to stop at the pub because it was closer for them to go there than it was to go home. Just so happened that one of my friends knew one of his mates and our groups started to mingle. Our groups went from one pub to the next and I finally went up to the handsome one with the shaved head and asked him the time. He told me 11:30 in his cute English accent and that was enough for me to follow him around like a lost puppy for the rest of the night.

Our first date was at the Coogee Bay Hotel, our local drinking spot. I was really nervous about the date because I had been single for a while and I felt a bit out of the dating scene. I may have had a drink or two to calm my nerves; I then proceeded to keep up with him with the drinks which was a bit of a mistake. I was a bit loose lipped about some embarrassing photos on my FB page and then found out the next day that we had become friends on FB.  (I also found out that he had no idea what my name was on our first date until he added me on FB). I had never felt that way about someone before. Both of us had a few bad experiences in the relationship department. After figuring out all I didn't want in a husband, Josh was definitely a catch and I knew he was my soulmate.

A fine day he brought me to a cute little cabin in Kangaroo Valley as a belated birthday gift. It was beautiful, a secluded area in the middle of nowhere; your neighbor is a five-minute drive down a dirt road kind of thing.

Following our trip; an evening after our baby girl had gone to bed, we had set up outside to have a glass of wine and chill. If you can imagine the sky, it was lit like daytime with the full moon, and stars for days and that was when he popped the question, it was the most amazing thing.

I truly look forward to spending forever with my Josh, My love.
